With just under a month to go until the first rounds of the 2025 GB4 Championship at Donington Park on 5/6 April, series organiser MotorSport Vision (MSV) has been notified by teams of at least 20 confirmed entries for the new season.
Following this morning's announcement of Isaac Phelps at Elite Motorsport, sixteen drivers have already been officially revealed for the 2025 campaign. However, Arden Motorsport, Graham Brunton Racing and KMR Sport are scheduled to confirm additional signings in the coming weeks, bringing the driver roster up to a minimum of 20. Elite, GBR and KMR are set to join Fortec Motorsports in fielding capacity three-car line-ups this year.
The increased driver intake means just eight seats remain for this year’s championship, with a maximum 28 cars currently available. Several drivers yet to reveal their 2025 plans have also tested with GB4 teams over the past fortnight, suggesting the confirmed number could rise even higher.
For 2025, GB4 has introduced the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car, equipped with a normally aspirated engine, revised aerodynamics and contemporary safety features including the halo and much improved side-impact and rollover protection qualities. The package ensures supreme levels of reliability and parity, while maintaining the pace of the previous generation car.
The car previously raced in more powerful form in the GB3 Championship, and its GB4 introduction has clearly had an effect.
MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the growth that GB4 has generated so far in 2025. After three years the championship is rightly recognised as a great value and important proving ground on the single-seater ladder, and that, combined with the addition of the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 with the halo, has made GB4 a hugely attractive prospect for young drivers looking to make their first steps in single-seater racing, as the jump in numbers demonstrates.
“It’s going to be an extraordinarily competitive season with some exciting drivers already announced, and it looks increasingly likely our GB4 grid will stretch beyond 20 drivers, as we expect to see in GB3 too. British junior single-seater racing is looking exceptionally healthy once again.”
Drivers can still secure their places on this year’s GB4 grid with Arden Motorsport, Douglas Motorsport, Fox Motorsport, Hillspeed, Pace Performance and Rossoverde Scorpio Racing, with the latter and ADM aiming to expand their operations to two cars.
