Arden Motorsport’s Leon Wilson shaved 0.006s off his best lap from yesterday to record the quickest time on the second day of testing at Snetterton.
Wilson was the fourth driver to top the times on Thursday, with Elite duo Alex Kattoulas and Ary Bansal, plus Douglas Motorsport’s Dayton Coulthard topping a session each earlier on.
The Yorkshireman’s final session effort of 1m48.522s was enough to put him almost three tenths of a second clear of the pack, with Elite Motorsport’s Isaac Phelps his nearest contender, while Kattoulas completed the day’s top-three, with each setting their best lap in the final 45-minute session.
Bansal ensured all three Elite cars were inside the top-four, with the Indian driver’s best time coming in the third test.
Canadian Mayer Deonarine enjoyed a promising day for Graham Brunton Racing, recording his best time in session three in which he was second fastest, enough to put him fifth overall.
Douglas Motorsport’s Swedish candidate was next up in sixth as he completed a successful first two days in the car, and a tenth of a second clear of Coulthard, who was fastest in session two, but recorded his best lap of the day in session three.
KMR Sport’s Megan Bruce was just a thousandth of a second away from Coulthard, and 0.003s clear of the third Douglas car of Luke Hilton, with Fortec’s Jack Taylor completing a top-10 covered by just over a second.
Ava Dobson (Arden), Lucas Magnussen (Fortec) and Thomas Ingram Hill (Fortec) were within 1.5 seconds of Wilson’s outright pace.
Josh McLean (Pace) and Lily-May Watkins (KMR) completed the 15 runners who participated in the two day test.
The field heads to Oulton Park on Tuesday/Wednesday next week for another two-day official test.
