Arden Motorsport’s Leon Wilson topped the times during the first official test of the 2025 GB4 Championship season at Snetterton.
The Yorkshireman’s best lap came in the third of four 45-minute sessions held under clear blue skies at the Norfolk venue, allowing almost perfect conditions for drivers to get up to speed.
Wilson was fastest in two of the day’s sessions, and his outright best of 1m48.528s was almost identical to the pole position time from last year’s race event. He was 0.183s clear of Elite’s Isaac Phelps, who topped the final session of the day, and is evaluating a move into the series from Ginetta Juniors.
Phelps’ Elite teammate Alex Kattoulas was third quickest, with his best lap also coming in the final session, with the third Elite car of Ary Bansal fourth. The Indian driver was the other driver to lead a session, having topped the times in the final test before the lunch break.
Luke Hilton was the lead Douglas Motorsport runner in fifth, just over a second away from the outright pace and just 0.006s clear of KMR Sport’s Megan Bruce, who is returning for a second year.
Douglas Motorsport’s second car, driven by an aspiring Swedish GB4 contender was seventh quickest and within two tenths of Bruce.
The third Douglas car of Dayton Coulthard was eighth on the combined timesheets, three tenths clear of Graham Brunton Racing’s returnee Mayer Deonarine, who enjoyed his first official run in GB4 machinery since last May.
Ava Dobson, also aiming for a GB4 return this year, completed the day’s top-10 for Arden Motorsport.
Testing resumes at the circuit tomorrow, before another two-day official test at Oulton Park next week.
