Swedish contender Enzo Hallman will make the step up to GB4 in 2025, completing Douglas Motorsport’s three-car line-up for the new campaign.
The 17-year-old from Jönköping enters GB4 off the back of a successful 2024 season, in which he was a front-runner in both single-seaters and junior touring cars.
Competing in the electric NXT Gen Cup, he finished third overall with nine podiums from the 13-race season across events at the Norisring, Nurgbrgring, Sachsenring and Hockenheim. Enzo’s performances were made all the more impressive by being the youngest driver in the end of year top-three.
He went one better in the Formula Nordic single-seater category, finishing as runner-up in the final standings as a rookie, despite missing the first rounds. He won five times in 13 races and took 11 podiums in total, in addition to a pole position and three fastest laps. He finished just 34 points shy of the champion and across his two championships in 2024, amassed 20 podium finishes.
His success led to him being named as the winner of the Ronnie Peterson Memorial Foundation scholarship at the start of this year. The award is one of Sweden’s most prestigious accolades for junior racing drivers.
Hallman, who was named after the legendary Enzo Ferrari, was also successful in karting, and claimed the 2021 Swedish Karting Championship in the Junior 125 category before making the step up to car racing in 2023.
He now completes Douglas Motorsport’s line-up for its first GB4 campaign, joining Luke Hilton and Dayton Coulthard ahead of the season opener at Donington Park on 5/6 April.
Enzo Hallman said: ”Stepping up to the GB4 Championship for my international single-seater debut really is a dream coming true for me. This is what I’ve been aiming for over the last six months or so, and to now finally make it happen is very, very exciting.
“This is going to be the biggest challenge of my career so far, with a new, proper downforce car, all new tracks, a new language and a new team behind me. Douglas Motorsport have given me such a warm welcome, however, and we’ve made good progress in the couple of tests we’ve done together.
“I feel at home with the team already and I really want to thank Wayne and Gemma for giving me this opportunity. Let’s see what we can do!”
Douglas Motorsport Team Principal Wayne Douglas said: “Enzo has proven that he’s an extremely talented young driver and we’re excited to be teaming him with Luke and Dayton to complete our capacity line-up for our first GB4 season. Enzo’s pace and development in his test days with us so far has been very encouraging, and we hope he will be right in the mix as the year progresses and he gets more used to the car.”
