Douglas Motorsport’s Luke Hilton bettered his day one time on the final day of GB4 testing at Silverstone on Tuesday.
The young Brit topped two of the three sessions at the British Grand Prix venue, and recorded a 2m00.564s in the final session to conclude a strong two days of testing. He was pushed all the way though, with the top-three covered by just over half a tenth of a second at the end of the test.
Elite’s Alex Kattoulas was just 0.022s further back, with Arden’s Leon Wilson third and only 0.033s further back. Kattoulas had set the pace in session two, only for Hilton to go two tenths quicker in the final test.
The second Elite car of Ary Bansal was fourth quickest, with the lead quartet all posting their best times in the final session.
Elite’s third contender, Isaac Phelps, was fifth thanks to his session two time, less than a tenth of a second clear of the lead Fortec car of Jack Taylor.
Luca Magnussen in the second Fortec car was next up in seventh, 0.013s ahead of KMR Sport’s Megan Bruce, with Callum Baxter (Graham Brunton Racing) and Thomas Ingram Hill (Fortec) completing a top-10 covered by just over a second.
The GB4 field’s next official outing will come at Donington Park on 3/4 April ahead of the season opener on 5/6 April.
