Hilton checks in with fastest time on opening day of Silverstone GB4 test

24 March 2025

Douglas Motorsport’s Luke Hilton proved the driver to beat as GB4 Championship pre-season testing resumed at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

The British driver registered a best time of 2m00.876s in the third and final session of the day to put himself 0.139s clear of Elite Motorsport’s Alex Kattoulas.

Hilton had been second quickest in the opening two sessions of the day, with Ary Bansal and Kattoulas topping the times respectively, but pumped in the quickest time of the day at the end of session three.

Kattoulas, who was the fastest driver at last week’s media day test, had to settle for second this time around, but was four tenths clear of Elite teammate Isaac Phelps, with the duo recording their best times in session two.

KMR’s Megan Bruce was second quickest in the final session, enough to put her fourth on the combined timesheets, 0.064s ahead of teammate Alex O’Grady.

Jack Taylor was the lead Fortec runner in sixth, and a tenth clear of session one topper Bansal, who was the final driver within a second of Hilton’s day topping pace.

Fortec’s Luca Magnussen was next up, 0.020s ahead of Pace Performance’s Josh McLean, while Douglas Motorsport resumed their testing programme with an aspiring Swedish contender, who completed the day’s top-10.

A total of 19 drivers participated in the first day of the test, with Fox Motorsport handing a first outing to racing newcomer Kristine Kolodziejski, who improved her pace rapidly as the day progressed.

Testing resumes at the home of the British Grand Prix tomorrow.
