GB4 Vice Champion Palmowski gears up for F1 Academy opener in China

21 March 2025

GB4 Championship runner-up Alisha Palmowski will get her maiden F1 Academy season underway in China this weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit.

The British driver won three GB4 races last year with Elite Motorsport, as she pushed the title battle all the way to the final round of the season at Brands Hatch.

Having claimed more podium finishes than any other driver in last year’s GB4 campaign, Palmowski made her F1 Academy debut as a wildcard entrant in Qatar last November, and impressed by finishing fifth in the sole encounter at Lusail.

Having since been signed up to drive the Red Bull Racing car in F1 Academy this year with Campos Racing, Alisha gets her new season underway this weekend, having also represented the brand at the recent F1 75 Live Launch in London.

“I’m super excited to get the F1 Academy season underway this weekend in Shanghai!” Palmowski enthused.

“The whole weekend will be a big learning curve for me but testing was positive and we’ve put a lot of work in behind the scenes so fingers crossed we can have a successful weekend.”

Palmowski has enjoyed a strong start to the event in China, setting the fifth quickest time in qualifying. The event format means she’ll start from fourth place in Saturday’s reverse grid encounter, before lining up fifth on the grid for the main race on Sunday.
