Elite Motorsport’s Alex Kattoulas set the quickest time on Wednesday as GB4 Championship testing concluded at Oulton Park.
Kattoulas’ session three lap proved the fastest of the day, with red flags and then rain in the afternoon affecting the running. His teammate Ary Bansal was quickest in session one and four to complete an Elite clean sweep of all sessions in which times were registered today.
Bansal started the day by posting a 1m36.352s in session one to lead the field by over 1.5 seconds. Kattoulas though found 1.8 seconds to improve to a 1m34.541s in the session immediately after lunch, less than three tenths away from Tom Mills’ pace yesterday, which proved the quickest of the two days. Rain arrived for the final session, with Bansal topping that with a 1m47.923s, and again 1.5 seconds clear of the chasing pack.
Kattoulas’ outright pace put him almost half a second ahead of the field, with teammates Bansal and Isaac Phelps completing Elite’s clean sweep of the top-three positions, with every driver today recording their best laps in session three.
Douglas Motorsport’s Luke Hilton was the nearest challenger to the Elite lockout, and 0.035s clear of Arden’s Leon Wilson, with KMR Sport’s Megan Bruce completing the day’s top-six.
Having topped a session yesterday and been second quickest overall, Graham Brunton Racing’s Mayer Deonarine was seventh this time around, ahead of Fortec’s Jack Taylor.
Douglas Motorsport’s Dayton Coulthard and Fortec Motorsports’ Luca Magnussen completed the top-10.
Official testing continues at Donington Park on 19/20 March, which also acts as the media day for the series.
