There’s less than 100 days to go until the 2025 GB4 Championship season gets underway at Donington Park on 5-6 April, and there’s plenty to look forward to in the new-look category across the next few weeks!
It’s time for the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 to go racing!
The Tatuus MSV GB4-025 will give the GB4 Championship a revitalised look in 2025, as the new car makes its series debut. The new machine is a big step forward, with major safety improvements including the halo, plus improved aerodynamics and a well trusted normally aspirated Mountune engine.
It’s a well proven package, having run in more powerful form in the GB3 Championship for the past three seasons to great acclaim. Now in GB4 specification, a new breed of drivers will savour this superb machine from 2025 onwards.
Teams have already received their new cars and update packages, and pre-season testing will kick off in earnest across the next few weeks.
A new venue for the season opener
Oulton Park has been the first round of the season for the past two years, but that changes in 2025 as Donington Park shifts to the first round instead. GB4 will then continue its charge around the UK’s premier circuits, including a double visit to Silverstone, while Oulton Park moves to a late spring date at the end of May.
Not only does Donington Park host the opening rounds, but the famous East Midlands venue will also return to the season finale slot, guaranteeing plenty of drama at the start of October!
New teams and drivers filling up the grid
This year’s GB4 line-up looks certain to be the biggest yet! Several new teams and drivers have already committed to the series, with two more squads set to confirm their 2025 plans in the coming days.
Douglas Motorsport is a new name in the series following its GB3 race-winning exploits, and has already signed Radical graduate Luke Hilton, while 2022 runners-up Hillspeed returns with former Mercedes F1 junior Daniel Guinchard. Gary Ward’s ADM squad is another addition, bringing American Jason Pribyl into slicks and wings racing.
GB4 podium finisher Jack Taylor stays with Fortec for his sophomore campaign, while race winners Fox Motorsport has promoted its Ginetta Junior contender Holly Miall to single-seaters.
Expect plenty more news in the very near future as the grid continues to fill up! In fact, we'll have our first driver announcement of the month on Thursday...
First official glimpses coming up
Pre-season testing will ramp up as the season gets closer, and there will be plenty of opportunities to catch cars in action across the UK. Two key dates come at Donington Park, with GB4 set to have a presence at the MSVR Season Launch on Friday 21 February, while the series ‘Media Days’ will take place at the same circuit on 19-20 March.
