What they said: Donington Park race three

06 April 2025

Alex Berg, Enzo Hallman and Stefan Bostandjiev were the top-three finishers in the final GB4 Championship race of the Donington Park season opener. Here's how each driver reacted at the end of the contest.

Winner, Alex Berg, Graham Brunton Racing:
"It's amazing! Leon Wilson really put me under pressure for a long time there! I was just hoping for a nice boring race, it reminds me a lot of last year when I raced in British F4, the reverse grid race, I won it but I got a five second penalty so it was taken away. So this feels like an almost identical redemption for last year.

"I'm so excited and happy, I'd really like to thank Graham Brunton Racing and my partners Rohde & Liesenfeld, Road To Racing Canada, Atna Pharmaceutical Consulting. Last year for me was really difficult and I didn't think I'd be back in a car again this year, but obviously I am and I couldn't be more grateful for my supporters. I only have budget for the first three races but I'm really hoping to find some more budget for the last four remaining rounds."

Second, Enzo Hallman, Douglas Motorsport:
"It's my first weekend so I didn't think of a result like this actually. We had quite bad pace in the practice days and it was my first time here at this track so to get a P2 is fantastic. Of course it was quite lucky but at the same time I knew something was going to happen because someone always sends it! That just happened so I'm really happy.

"It's been a fantastic weekend overall and I want to thank Douglas Motorsport for their amazing work with all the engineers and everything. They did a great job so I'm really happy."

Third, Stefan Bostandjiev, Pace Performance:
"Not a bad first weekend for my debut in single-seaters. I'm making the jump from sports car racing and it's very humbling, those cars are based on BOP. Here it's all about the driver finding the grip, managing the tyres throughout the stint and we did that today. Of course we got lucky with the incident in front of us, but coming into this weekend I was using it as preparation for GB3 later in the month. Every day we're just chipping away at it, the specifics of single-seater racing, and it's just so different to sports car racing. A solid P3, a podium on debut and a thank you to Pace Performance for supplying me with a good car for race three.

"Coming into this weekend I wanted relevant track time and that's what we got, relevant racing. I'm definitely more prepared now than I was coming into Thursday. Obviously the GB3 car has a lot more downforce, I'm coming from the Super Trofeo which has a lot of mechanical grip, so it will be something to work on, but I definitely feel positive after today."
