American racer Leandro Juncos joins Hillspeed for GB4 campaign

02 April 2025

Leandro Juncos has been confirmed as Hillspeed’s second GB4 Championship signing for the coming 2025 season, following a successful test at Donington Park last week.

The 19-year-old American driver with Argentine heritage, who was born in Miami but now resides in Indiana, had originally looked to contest the sister GB3 Championship this year but has reassessed his plans and will now partner Daniel Guinchard in Hillspeed’s GB4 line-up.

Juncos arrives in British motorsport with only a small amount of competitive single-seater experience, having raced a part-season in the USF Junior Championship last year – taking a best of fourth place at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama.

Out of the cockpit, he has gained a key understanding on the engineering side of single-seaters in the world of IndyCar racing with the Juncos Hollinger Racing team, co-owned by his father Ricardo, where Juncos Jnr worked as assistant race strategist for American star Conor Daly last year.

Determined to continue his family’s legacy within motorsport, Juncos aims to make strong progression throughout the year with Derbyshire team Hillspeed, which makes its eagerly awaited return to GB4 this season after a couple of years focusing exclusively on GB3. When Hillspeed last competed in the series in 2022, the squad concluded the campaign as Vice-Champions in the GB4 Team Championship.

Leandro Juncos said: “I’m incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to compete in the 2025 GB4 Championship with Hillspeed. This year is a fantastic opportunity for success as I feel the team and I have gelled very quickly following a positive test day at Donington – and with partnering alongside Dan as a team-mate, we are in a very strong position as a team to start the season.

“Competing on such iconic tracks around England in a highly competitive series presents an exciting challenge for me, as this year will be a steep learning curve for me as a driver in my first full season in racing.”

Hillspeed Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw said: “It’s fantastic news we’ve agreed a deal with Leandro for the GB4 Championship this year. We had a good test day at Donington last week where we all immediately gelled, I think GB4 is going to be the perfect fit for him this year and we’re looking forward to working together throughout 2025.

“As Leandro only has a part campaign in single-seaters under his belt from the States last year, GB4 is the ideal place for him to develop his skills. Teaming with a driver like Dan [Guinchard] is going to be incredibly beneficial to Leandro’s learning and development, we can’t wait for the season to start and to really get going.”
