Granfors splashes to GB4 race two victory at Donington Park

08 September 2024

Fortec's Linus Granfors claimed his sixth victory of the GB4 Championship season in a wet race two at Donington Park this morning.

The Swedish championship leader powered to the front at the start, and never looked back, building a small margin to Elite's pole sitter Finn Harrison, who followed him home in second after closing the gap down to under half a second entering the final lap. Granfors took that moment to set the fastest lap of the race on the final lap, extending his lead to 1.2s as they crossed the line.

KMR's Lucas Blakeley battled through from fifth to complete the podium in third, passing Elite's Alisha Palmowski on the second lap to make it two podiums in a row after his race one win yesterday. Palmowski tried to battle back through the Craners next time around, but settled for fourth.

KMR's Harry Burgoyne put yesterday's tough event behind him to take fifth from ninth on the grid, ahead of Graham Brunton Racing's Callum Baxter.

Arden's Leon Wilson was seventh ahead of Fox Motorsport's Megan Bruce, who equalled her best 'main' race result of the season with eighth.

The third KMR car of Chloe Grant and Fox Motorsport's Branden Templeton completed the top-10, with the latter fighting back from 15th at the end of lap one.

The final race of the weekend is due to start at 17.10.
