Before winning the GB4 Championship title on Sunday, Fortec’s Linus Granfors also secured the George Russell Pole Position Cup, with his latest double pole at Brands Hatch on Saturday.
The poles, secured in qualifying, were Granfors’ fifth and sixth of the season, putting him two clear of his nearest rivals.
The 16-year-old did it in style too, by setting a new GB4 Championship qualifying lap record around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, but only after exchanging provisional pole position on numerous occasions with KMR Sport’s Lucas Blakeley.
Granfors earned a £1,000 end of year prize and the George Russell Pole Position Cup, presented to him by Award founder John Cavill. Granfors’ six poles throughout the year earned him an additional £750 in prize money (£125 per pole).
Thanks to Granfors’ efforts, the Fortec Motorsport team won the Team’s Pole Position Cup and an additional £1,000 prize.
