Finn Harrison, Alisha Palmowski and Linus Granfors were the top-three finishers in the final GB4 Championship race of the year at Brands Hatch. Here's how each driver reacted after the season finale.
Finn Harrison, Elite Motorsport, winner
“It’s good to end with a P1 isn’t it? We’ve worked so hard through the year. I won it at Silverstone, it was great to end the year this way and have it as the last race of the year. Overall, I’m quite pleased with it.
“It was a pretty good race. I had a good start and then managed the pace all the way through. The safety car helped a bit at the end. First 1-2 I think of the year for us so that’s quite good.”
Alisha Palmowski, Elite Motorsport, second
“Over the moon, absolutely, really high pressure race that one. Obviously Harry Burgoyne had a great start so it didn’t look like it was going very well, as I needed to outscore him by nine points. But then all of a sudden I had a good run out of Paddock Hill and went up the inside of Druids and he pushed me over onto the grass so it was very close. I think something happened with his front wing and then he had to pit under the safety car, so I don’t know exactly what happened. I'm just so pleased for Elite Motorsport to get a 1-2. It’s the best way to end the season so really happy.
“Honestly it’s been the best year in GB4. I cannot rate the series highly enough and the future next year looks really bright with the new car. I just can’t thank everyone involved enough; it’s been incredible. My sponsors as well as everyone in Elite Motorsport. Jonathan Palmer as well for setting up the whole series, just really grateful to everybody.”
Linus Granfors, Fortec Motorsport, third
“To get the podium with reverse grid was really good. Starting P11 and then I was just waiting for them to crash, three cars wide into the second corner, I knew that wasn’t going to work. Then the crash happened and I just went up the inside and I think I was P5 and then I just got past two cars and got on the podium.
“I hope to move up to GB3 next year now!”
