Lucas Blakeley broke the GB4 Championship lap record around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit last weekend as he blasted to his third Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award of the year.
The Scotsman’s time of 1m24.665s came in the first race of the event, in which he finished second behind teammate Harry Burgoyne.
In doing so, Blakeley beat the previous race lap record of 1m24.773s set last year by Tom Mills, during his championship-winning weekend.
Blakeley won the award three times throughout the year, and was the winner in three of the last four events. Eventual champion Linus Granfors was the only other driver to claim the prize on more than one occasion, with both coming at Silverstone.
Harry Burgoyne and Liam McNeilly were the other two contenders to secure the award in 2024.
