GB4 runner-up Alisha Palmowski continued her strong F1 Academy form ahead of her debut races in the category, by setting the sixth fastest time in a shortened qualifying session at Lusail.
In what should have been a 30-minute session, drivers instead had just 23 minutes to set their best times, and Palmowski, who was third quickest in free practice, was again a contender towards the sharp end of the grid.
Running well inside the top-three for most of the session, she was shuffled down to sixth by the end of her first F1 Academy qualifying session, and will start from that position for race one later today. She was less than three quarters of a second away from pole sitter Doriane Pin, who was two tenths clear of the field.
Qualifying follows a similar format to that used in GB4, with each driver's second quickest time from the session deciding the order for race two on Sunday.
On that classification, Palmowski was fourth quickest, putting her right in contention for a possible podium finish in the concluding race of her Wildcard weekend.
The first race is due to start at 8pm UK time, and can be viewed here.
