GB4 runner-up Alisha Palmowski was straight on the pace in F1 Academy practice on Friday, ahead of her debut series appearance in Qatar.
The British driver was a superb third quickest in the second session at the Lusail circuit, only just over a tenth of a second away from the quickest time, set by Mercedes F1 junior and title contender Doriane Pin.
Palmowski, driving the official Wildcard entry fielded by Prema, was only 0.041s in arrears of the Rodin car of championship leader Abbi Pulling. In the 40-minute practice, Palmowski had two spells at the top of the times, and was the first driver to record a lap in the 1m54s bracket.
The three-time GB4 race-winner had shown her pace in the official tests at the same circuit a couple of weeks ago, topping one session and finishing no lower than sixth. She had been seventh fastest in the first practice session, held earlier today.
Palmowski will return to action on Saturday for qualifying and the first race, with the second contest taking place on Sunday.
Qualifying and the races can be followed on the official F1 Academy YouTube channel.
