What they said: Silverstone Qualifying

Linus Granfors, Lucas Blakeley and Callum Baxter were the top three drivers in qualifying at Silverstone this morning. Here's how each driver reacted afterwards.

Double pole, Linus Granfors, Fortec Motorsport: "It feels good. The track was really good and times just continued to improve all the time. So if I got two more laps it would have been a better lap time but yeah it was good. I know the Hanger Straight, we have Maggots and Becketts so it’s quite hard to be that close but we’ll see [about slipstreaming]. I’m looking to [do well in] the first two races and then the reverse as well you can overtake so we’ll see!"

Second, Lucas Blakeley, KMR Sport: "Huge thanks to KMR Sport for giving me the tools. It was a fun qualifying session, getting to rag a GB4 car around the full Silverstone layout is an experience I’m never going to forget. The session was okay. Maybe didn’t get the maximum lap time out of myself but I think it’s a pretty tricky track to do that anyway. There’s so many places where you can gain or lose. The grip can go away very quickly so all in all, pretty happy to be on the front row because you can fight from there."

Third, Callum Baxter, Graham Brunton Racing: "I’m really happy. It is my best qualifying of the year. Before that it was P5 so I was happy I was able to string together a pretty decent lap and I’m looking forward to starting near the front in the race. It’s going to be important or me to get a good start and then try to hold onto the leaders with the slipstream if I can."
