25 July 2024

Fortec Motorsport’s Linus Granfors was the quickest driver in the first GB4 Championship test session at Silverstone on Thursday morning.

The Swedish contender recorded a best time of 2m01.655s, putting him over three quarters of a second clear of the pack, headed by Snetterton winner Lucas Blakeley in his KMR Sport car.

The remainder of the field was much closer, with Callum Baxter third for Graham Brunton Racing, and 0.054s clear of Elite’s Snetterton double winner Alisha Palmowski.

She was a tenth of a second ahead of teammate Finn Harrison, a double pole sitter at Silverstone earlier in the season, with KMR Sport’s championship leader Harry Burgoyne sixth.

Arden Motorsport’s Leon Wilson set the seventh best time ahead of KMR Sport’s Chloe Grant, with Jack Taylor (Fortec) and Branden Templeton (Fox) completing the top-10.

Idola Motorsport also joined the session with Aleksander Mizera, while VRD Racing also ran a car in the session for their first GB4 appearance since last October’s season finale at Donington Park.

The second session of the day is due to commence at 14.10.
