Lucas Blakeley, Alisha Palmowski and Callum Baxter were the top three finishers in the dinal race of the weekend at Snetterton. Here’s how each of them reacted afterwards.
Winner, Lucas Blakeley, KMR Sport:
“I’m speechless, I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what happened at turn one I just saw three cars sideways. What a crazy race from P11 to P1, I mean I didn’t even know that was the last lap. So much goes on in the race and I just tried to make sure I did everything right. So many overtakes, so many defining moments. I went from P5 to P1 on the last lap so I definitely played my cards right and snuck through the madness so I’m grateful we managed to come out on the other side. It’s so hard to process.
“For the last two months since I finished my latest esports season I’ve been thinking about how do I get back into a real car. Being fitter, I definitely think that’s helped a lot this year. All the small things. But I couldn’t have imagined it all coming together like this. Three podiums in three races is really hard to do!”
Second, Alisha Palmowski, Elite Motorsport: “It was a difficult race. Reverse grid races are always tricky, they’re a totally different ball game. Just went in with a mentality of we need to collect championship points and finish the race. I was very lucky there to be totally honest, I inherited that P2, but then again we had so much bad luck at Donington Park through no fault of my own so. Motorsport is full of highs and lows. For me, great, great championship points.”
Third, Callum Baxter, Graham Brunton Racing:
“That was a really fun race. It was very challenging, everyone was kind of all over the place but I’m really happy to come out of that with a podium.”
