Megan Bruce joins Fox Motorsport for GB4 Championship debut

27 February 2024

Fox Motorsport has announced Megan Bruce as the team’s first signing for the 2024 GB4 Championship.

The 19-year-old from West Sussex joins Fox having impressed in a handful of test days in a variety of weather conditions in the Tatuus F4-T014 GB4 car at Oulton Park, Donington Park and Silverstone.

Megan made her race debut last year in the Caterham Academy and scored a podium finish in the one-make series for novice competitors.

Despite entering the series with no racing experience, she qualified on the front row for only her third race and was a podium finisher during a season in which she became a consistent front-runner. She now steps up from the stripped-down sportscars to a full ‘slicks and wings’ single-seater series.

Fox Motorsport, from Maldon, Essex, chose GB4 in 2023 for the team’s maiden season in single-seater racing and won on their debut weekend in the series at Oulton Park.

Two victories and 10 podium finishes resulted in third in the points for Liam McNeilly. The team has previously won in the British GT Championship, International GT Open and 24H Series and secured titles in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup and GT5 Challenge.

Megan Bruce said: “This move is so exciting. Adapting to the change from a Caterham on treaded tyres to a GB4 single-seater with slicks and wings has been interesting so far, but the Fox Motorsport team have made me feel at home so I feel I’ve had the best possible starting point. Having Liam [McNeilly] as someone who’s raced and won in these cars in the past year has been an added bonus to the work Jamie [Stanley] and the other coaches do here and should be a real help. I know it’s going to be a learning year, but I can’t wait for the opening round.”

Paul McNeilly, Team Principal, said: “We’re very pleased to announce Megan as our first GB4 driver for 2024 as part of what will be an all-new line-up. Although she’s never raced a single-seater before – and the GB4 car is very different to the Caterham she competed in last year – she’s getting stronger every time she climbs into the car. Her progress has been doubly impressive when you remember she’d never raced at all this time last year. I’m sure that the rate of improvement we’ve seen so far is going to continue during the season too.”
