Multiple GB4 race-winner Liam McNeilly will head Stateside for his next racing venture, after confirming he’ll drive for Jay Howard Driver Development in USF Juniors this year.
McNeilly won races at Oulton Park and Donington Park in his first campaign of single-seater racing with his family-run Fox Motorsport squad, as well as taking eight additional podium finishes across the season, as he finished third overall in the standings.
He now heads to the USA as he aims to climb the ‘Road to Indy’ ladder, and joins the squad headed by British former Indycar racer Jay Howard, which runs teams across multiple series.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining Jay Howard Driver Development for the 2024 season,” McNeilly said. “After a couple of successful tests with Jay and the team, racing in the US seemed like a logical step after my successful rookie single-seater year in the UK. It will be a challenge learning new circuits and competing against some tough opposition, but a challenge I’m excited about and very much looking forward to.”
Briton Howard added: “We are thankful that Liam has chosen to race with us in 2024. Liam comes with a ton of experience and while USF Juniors will be a new experience for him, I am confident that he will be in contention from their very first green flag of the season.
“Liam will be a great addition to our program, and despite the lack of testing this offseason, we believe in his skills and abilities to help bring JHDD more race wins, podium results, and championships in 2024.”
