GB4 race winner Logan Hannah gets F1 Academy Wild Card seat for Abu Dhabi

03 December 2024

GB4 race winner Logan Hannah will return to single-seater racing for the F1 Academy rounds in Abu Dhabi this weekend, as she takes up the Wild Card entry filled by Alisha Palmowski in Qatar.

Scottish racer Hannah, who will race with a UAE licence at Yas Marina, was a GB4 winner at Donington Park in 2022, and also took a podium that year at Silverstone.

She’s raced in sports cars and tin tops since her GB4 venture, having risen the ranks through karting and UAE F4 before then.

Her first taste of the F1 Academy car came at the Yas Marina test days in October, and she’ll compete with Prema Racing this weekend, and enjoy backing from Away, a leading luggage brand.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me to race on an unparalleled platform” Hannah commented.

“As someone who loves to travel and experience new places, it’s amazing to be supported by a brand like Away that not only celebrates exploration but is also dedicated to empowering women.

“I’m excited to take on this challenge in Abu Dhabi, where I grew up karting and my career began, knowing I’m part of a mission to help create opportunities for the next generation of women in motorsport.

“I also want to say a personal thank you, Susie [Wolff], the entire F1 Academy team, and Away for this opportunity.”
