Evans GP has confirmed the addition of Indian racer Kai Daryanani for rounds three, six, and seven of the 2023 GB4 Championship.
Currently in his rookie season in British F4, and with prior experience from the UAE F4 Championship, Daryanani's signing means the Australian-Malaysian team expands to a capacity three-car line-up this weekend at Donington Park (27/28 May), and for the final two events of the season at Brands Hatch and the return trip to Donington.
The races will provide Daryanani with additional seat time in a competitive environment as he navigates a first full campaign of slicks and wings racing. This aligns well with Evans GP's strategy of developing promising talent, a goal already showing results with Australian rookie Cooper Webster securing podium finishes in the first two rounds of the season.
Daryanani's career progression has been notably influenced by his manager and coach, Dan Wells. Wells' experienced guidance will continue to be crucial as Daryanani navigates the competitive GB4 Championship.
The 18-year-old’s first taste of GB4 machinery will come during pre-event testing at Donington Park this week.
Kai Daryanani said: “I’m really excited to be able to make my GB4 debut with Evans GP. Track time is really important, especially for a driver such as myself who needs to catch up on experience compared to the competition, so this gives me a great opportunity to continue my learning. I’d like to thanks Evans GP for the opportunity, my manager Dan Wells for putting it together, and also my sponsors Madnani Facial Plastics and Skyway Pacific. I’m looking forward to the weekend!”
Team Owner Joshua Evans said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kai Daryanani, a rising star in the world of motorsport, to the Evans GP family for selected rounds of the GB4 Championship.
“Kai Daryanani's approach to his debut year of car racing is something that impresses me greatly. Kai, together with his manager, Dan Wells, have meticulously created a robust program focused on his holistic development as a driver.
“As a new entrant in GB4, it's heartening to see talent from all corners of the globe seeking to join our ambitious journey. Our recent podium finishes in our first two events are a testament to the unwavering dedication and grit of our team, a beacon of our potential. Continuous improvement is our mantra and we eagerly look forward to raising the bar with Kai's addition to the team.”
