What they said: Oulton Park race two

10 April 2023

Tom Mills and Liam McNeilly were the lead duo in the second GB4 race of the weekend at Oulton Park. Here’s how each driver reacted afterwards.

Winner, Tom Mills, KMR Sport
“I like the rain, because of my Formula Ford experience, I’m pretty good in the rain. It was as good race, shame we didn’t get more racing laps but a big thanks to the marshals for braving the showers and recovering the cars who were going off.

“I got off the line in front this time. Managing the safety car restarts, I’ve not done many safety car restarts in my time, I’ve not led many, it was good to get experience with that. I was happy with my race, nothing more I could’ve done.

“I’m hoping it stays wet. If it’s dry, it’ll be like Saturday and be really hard to overtake. If it stays wet anything can happen, you saw the amount of safety cars. If we have safety cars in the reverse grid race then there’s not so many laps to overtake so I’m hoping it’s a bit cleaner than this one.

Second, Liam McNeilly, Fox Motorsport
“I couldn’t ask for much more, safety car sort of hindered our progress really, it was looking strong, just zero visibility, when you’re stuck behind a car in front it’s hard to see. But yeah, second race, first podium. Good.

“I like the rain round here, a proper drivers circuit round here. Rain comes down, you just have to get on with it.”
