The final GB4 Championship race of the inaugural weekend at Snetterton is scheduled to commence at the earlier time of 14.55, with Fortec’s Jessica Edgar on pole position. Live streaming for the contest will be live streamed from 14.30.
The third race is a reverse grid contest based on the qualifying results, with all drivers within 103% of the fastest time eligible for the reversal.
Edgar was the final driver within the 103% mark, and therefore heads an all female top three on the grid, with Hillspeed’s Megan Gilkes starting second and Graham Brunton Racing’s Logan Hannah third.
Fortec’s Elias Adestam lines up alongside Hannah on row two, while Hillspeed’s Max Marzorati and Kevin Mills Racing’s Tom Mills form row three.
Jack Sherwood will start in seventh for Elite Motorsport ahead of Kevin Mills Racing’s Jarrod Waberski.
Race two winner Alex Walker will start ninth while double pole sitter Nikolas Taylor will go from towards the back this time thanks to the reversal, lining up 10th.
Chloe Grant, in her first race event outside of Junior Saloons, and Christian Lester in his first race weekend for three years, were outside the 103% requirement in qualifying, and will therefore start from the back row of the grid this afternoon.
Pole sitter Edgar said: "I'm excited, I think it will be a good chance to keep up there with the fast drivers and hopefully make some improvements on my own pace.
"I'm looking forward to it, I think it will be quite a hard race but I'm hoping for a top-six. There could be a chance of the podium but the others behind me are a bit faster. It's different that there are quite a few girls in the championship and it's nice to be racing against them instead of just boys!"
Second place starter Gilkes commented: "I'm quietly optimistic! In testing we had fantastic pace and I was inside the top-five most of the time. The weekend hasn't quite gone to plan, I was a bit unlucky in qualifying and from there the weekend has stayed about where it started. I'm looking forward to starting at the pointy end of the grid for this one and we'll see what happens!
"If I can lead a lap or a few laps, that's the starting goal. Then I'll chase after a few more, but to be honest I always go into a race with absolutely no expectations. You can plan for things in racing but they never happen!"
Logan Hannah added: "I have unintentionally managed to save some tyres, I'm now on a set of tyres that are fresher than everyone elses! But I've got to be able to make them work, Off the start I want to push forwards and make my car as wide as possible, and show that people can't push me about. It's not going to be easy to get past me, I want to make that known!
"I was happy with my start in race two, I stalled in the first, but in the second race I got a really good start, but only made it as far as turn seven. Up until that point I'd managed to get up the inside of some drivers, push some out and again show that I'm not one to be pushed about. So I'm looking forward to getting my elbows out at the front of the grid. A race finish here would be ideal, but a top five would be mega. Any sort of racing at this point and being able to move in and around the other cars will be ideal as well."
