Fortec Motorsports commences GB4 testing programme

20 January 2022

Leading single-seater team Fortec Motorsports has commenced its pre-season testing programme ahead of the maiden GB4 Championship partnered by the BRDC season.

The Daventry-based squad, which claimed the British F4 title in 2019 and are regular race winners in MSV’s GB3 Championship, made full use of a clear day on the Donington Park National Circuit with one of its newly acquired Tatuus F4-T014 GB4 cars.

Sporting the team’s traditional red and white livery, a promising karting graduate completed almost three hours of running during the team’s first test with the new machinery.

“It’s been a really positive day and good to get out on track after the Christmas break,” Team Manager Oliver Dutton commented. “We’ve been able to get plenty of running with the car and it’s ran faultlessly as we’d expected.”

The team expects to ramp up its testing programme in the coming weeks, with more drivers expected to get behind the wheel.

“We’ve got lots of testing planned over the next month, both with GB4 and GB3, including some days on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. GB4 is looking really good for us, and we’re likely to expand to a third car.

“We’ve got some drivers coming across from overseas that we’re looking forward to testing, and we hope to get some deals sorted soon.”
