Fortec Motorsport’s Jessica Edgar has targeted a run at the top-five when the GB4 Championship season resumes at Snetterton on 25-26 June.
The 17-year-old, in her first season of racing outside of karts, already has a podium finish to her name courtesy of a battling drive at Oulton Park, and she’s in a buoyant mood as she heads to the scene of the first round of the year back at the start of April.
“I’m really looking forward to the second half of the year,” she said. “Going back to Snetterton, I’m feeling more confident as I know the track better, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
Strong progress has been made in the first half of the season with Fortec, and she reckons going back to a venue she’s already raced at will allow her to demonstrate that.
“I think this year could be going a bit better, but I’m progressing well every time I get out in the car.
“Fortec has helped me massively with the transition from karting to cars and I think the improvements will show when we get back to Snetterton, especially the race craft.
“I’m hoping to get a top-five finish in a race. I’ll achieve that by getting a top-five in qualifying and then holding my ground in the race.”
